Cattlemen Best Rainbow Mermaids in Pitching Duel
|
The Ft. Worth Cattlemen picked up a win at The Cattle Pen, knocking off the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, 2-0. Starting pitcher Chase Davis played a key role in the triumph. Davis, now 2-2, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 7, walking 0, and allowing no runs. Ft. Worth now has a record of 16-12 with the win.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Cattlemen had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the second, when center fielder Juan Raspaldo hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Robert Moody and made the score 1-0, Cattlemen. Raspaldo went 1-3.
"Winning is contagious," said Davis. "We're looking forward to the next game."
