García Slugs Crossbeaus to 5-3 Win
|
Getting offensive support from Anastasio García, the Beaumont Crossbeaus topped the Plattsburgh Puffer Fish, 5-3. García went 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Crossbeaus. Eduardo Sánchez, the winner, improved to 4-5. He held Plattsburgh to 2 runs on 1 hit over 6 innings, while racking up 7 strikeouts. Earning his 7th save for Beaumont was Yok-sing Zhou.
García had a timely hit for Beaumont in the bottom of the sixth. With Plattsburgh trailing 2-1, he turned a 1-2 changeup into a 3-run home run. It was his 8th home run of the season, making it 4-2, Beaumont.
"Winning is hard sometimes," said Crossbeaus manager Stephen Richards. "This one was nice to get."
The win gives the Crossbeaus a record of 16-33.
