The Hicksville Hounds and Beaumont Crossbeaus provided some drama for the home crowd.
Domingo Gonzáles pitched well, but the Hicksville Hounds still lost the game, falling 4-3 to the Beaumont Crossbeaus at The Target. Rusty Collins recorded the save, his 1st.
In the bottom of the eighth, Beaumont pinch hitter José Sosa put his team on top. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit his 1st double of the year. Hicksville pitcher Domingo Gonzáles served it up. Just like that, the Crossbeaus were ahead, 4-3.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Hicksville skipper Phil Carroll.
Beaumont has a record of 15-33, placing them 9th in the Premier Low A.
