Thrilling Victory Pushes Centennial Win Streak to 7
|
In a well-pitched game between the Fort Knox Centennial and the Shady Side Zoomies, pitcher Juan Corona was superb. The Fort Knox right-hander helped his team win, 2-1. Getting the save was José Carlos, his 4th. The Centennial lead the Premier Low A by 4½ games.
Fort Knox used a clutch hit from Ismael Carrillo to get the win. The center fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Centennial ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"We didn't string enough hits together to win the game," said tight-lipped Shady Side manager John Aston. "Obviously."
