|
Beaumont starter Conor Mabty put a stranglehold on the Hudsonville offense. The right-hander had complete command of his slider in leading the Crossbeaus to a 2-1 win. Mabty got the win, improving to 3-3. He allowed 5 hits and walked 3 over 6.1 innings. Mabty allowed 1 run. Yok-sing Zhou collected save number 5.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the seventh, with the game tied, Gilberto González was at the plate when Beaumont scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Crossbeaus to go in front, 2-1.
"We'll build on this win," said Mabty.
The victory makes Beaumont 12-32.
