Quebec City Topples Hicksville, 5-2
|
Quebec City Baby Blues starter Morgan Evison pitched a strong game against the Hicksville Hounds at Hound Pound, leading the Baby Blues to victory, 5-2. Evison, now 3-2, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 5, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. Ed Ray got credit for the save for Quebec City. It was his 7th of the year.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Andrew Perkins? The Quebec City left fielder had a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Baby Blues on top, 3-1. For the game, Perkins had 1 double and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Quebec City manager Troy Grant.
Quebec City's record now stands at 16-20, placing them 6th in the Premier Low A.
