The Hudsonville Flanderses bested the Redwood Rhinos, 8-3, at Hudsonville Park. Ted Swanson was one of the standouts. He went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Jeff Phillips snagged the win in relief. In 3 innings, the left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits. He's now 2-0 on the season. The current losing streak for Redwood has reached 7 games.

Had Ron Shreeve not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Shreeve hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Flanderses.

"Been a rough stretch for us," said Redwood manager Dave Parrish.
