Narrow Win Takes Fort Knox Streak to 9
|
Fort Knox and Beaumont played a hard-fought contest.
Fort Knox right-hander Juan Corona helped his team edge Beaumont by the score of 3-2. Corona kept the opposing lineup in check. The winner in relief was Ketema El Hindi. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3 innings. He now owns a record of 2-1.
Fort Knox used a clutch hit from Francisco Pérez to snatch the win. The third baseman belted a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Centennial ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was huge.
"We're just feeding off each other right now," said Pérez.
The 9th-place Crossbeaus have lost 5 straight games.
