Hobeaus Suffer 4-2 Setback
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Laredo Hawks and Smoky Mountain Hobeaus.
Laredo Hawks starter Michael Wright turned in an exceptional performance against the Smoky Mountain Hobeaus at Smokies Stadium, resulting in a Laredo win, 4-2. Sosa Kiyomizu snagged the win in relief. In 2.1 innings, the right-hander allowed no runs on no hits. He's now 6-1 on the season.
Laredo used a timely hit from John Robinson to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Hawks ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.
"Michael -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Hawks manager Oliver Burrell. "He was the key to us winning."
The Hobeaus have now dropped 5 straight.
