Monroeville rode a fine outing from starter Hyeong-ro Yi to victory over the Lake Erie Arryns at Arryns Ballpark. The final score was 2-1. Monroeville reliever Bob Powell was the winner. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Shigetoki Kato. Martin Lumley was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 12 of 12 save opportunities.
Monroeville used the clutch hitting of Bob Johnson to capture the win. The left fielder drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to give the Yinzers the lead, 2-1. For the game, Johnson had 2 singles and 1 double in 5 at-bats.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Lake Erie manager Sammy Bannatyne said following the tough loss.
