Hobeaus Rally For 2-0 Win
|
The Hobeaus faced a stiff challenge from Monroeville pitcher Jacob Cox, but persevered to claim a win at Dragoons War Memorial Stadium. The final score was 2-0. Cox went 7 innings and allowed no runs. The 9th-place Hobeaus are 39-51.
Smoky Mountain used the clutch hitting of Ken Hines to capture the win. The left fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Hobeaus ahead, 2-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"I like what I saw today," said Smoky Mountain manager Gilberto Chávez, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
