Floundering Vandals Lose 31th Straight
Michael Wright was in top form in a low-scoring contest between Laredo and Eugene. The Hawks left-hander helped his team beat the Vandals, 2-1. Edgard Mendoza recorded the save, his 8th. Eugene is in the throes of a 31-game losing streak.

Runs were scarce in this one. So, Chris Thompson's at-bat in the top of the ninth was vitally important. With one out, the Laredo right fielder reached on an error by the 3B, driving in 1 run, to give his team a 2-1 lead.

"We were in it," said Eugene manager José Cervantes. "We just didn't score enough runs."
