The Athletic Club KC U-24 eked out a 2-1 win versus the Huntington Hermit Crabs at ACKC Youth Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Richie Lems. He was terrific. Nalle Sijne earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. He upped his record to 4-0. Athletic Club KC is now 52-27, 3½ games up in the Premier A.

Athletic Club KC won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With two outs and Mario Noceda on the mound for Huntington, pinch hitter Carlos Román hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing U-24 fans to their feet.

"To not win that game stings a little bit," said Huntington manager Mike Evans.
