Hobeaus Roll to 8-2 Win Over Hermit Crabs
The Smoky Mountain Hobeaus topped the Huntington Hermit Crabs, 8-2, in USPL Single A action at Smokies Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Smoky Mountain pitcher and Sapulpa, Oklahoma, native Larry Bryant. Bryant, the winner, moves to 7-3. He threw 5 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 2 walks. The win has Smoky Mountain at 24-43.

Carlos Ruíz dealt the Hermit Crabs a blow in the bottom of the first. Batting with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Smoky Mountain leading 1-0, Ruíz hit a first pitch fastball for a 3-run home run.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Ruíz told a Smoky Mountain Chronicle reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
