Blaze Tag Yinzers with 4-2 Loss
|
The South Beach Blaze picked up a win at Dragoons War Memorial Stadium, knocking off the Monroeville Yinzers, 4-2. Starting pitcher Jerry Gordon was a big reason why. Gordon got the win, improving to 5-2. He allowed 7 hits and walked 0 over 7 innings. Gordon allowed 2 runs. José Carlos nailed down his 2nd save.
South Beach relied on the hitting of Jean Kools to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Blaze on top, 4-0. For the game, Kools had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Gordon.
South Beach now sits in third place in the Premier A at 40-25.
