Centennial Win, 8-1, at Hicksville
|
The Fort Knox Centennial powered past the Hicksville Hounds, 8-1, at Hound Pound. Francisco Pérez went 2 for 5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice, to lead the charge. Lloyd Best got the win, improving to 1-0. He held the Hounds to 1 run on 4 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 7 and walking 1. Orlando Calderón finished the game for Fort Knox and earned his 1st save.
Fort Knox relied on the hitting of Natalino Desidrio to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a solo home run in the top of the second inning to put the Centennial on top, 2-0. For the game, Desidrio had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"If we keep hitting the ball well, the wins will pile up," said Fort Knox skipper Justin Saginov.
The Centennial, now 3-1, have hit the ground running this season.
