Beaumont and Hicksville duked it out and the Crossbeaus came out victorious.

The Beaumont Crossbeaus picked up a win at Hound Pound, knocking off the Hicksville Hounds, 6-3. Starting pitcher Jose Sánchez played a key role in the triumph. Earning his 1st save of the year was Yok-sing Zhou.

The Crossbeaus got an important contribution from second baseman Jerome Powers, who in the top of the sixth punched a 1-1 curveball into left for a bases-clearing double. It was his 1st double of the season and put the Crossbeaus ahead, 6-0.

"We'll take some time to unwind," said Powers, "and then get after it again."

The win gives Beaumont a record of 1-1.
