Loss to Seahawks Extends Eugene Losing Streak
|
Led by Herb Valentine, the Myrtle Beach Seahawks downed the Eugene Vandals, 6-3. Valentine went 1-2 with a home run and a walk for the Seahawks. José Benítez collected save number 2. Eugene is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 8 in a row.
The Seahawks got an important contribution from second baseman Josh Miller, who in the top of the second hit a changeup into left-center for a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Seahawks ahead, 3-0.
"We bring energy to every game," said losing manager José Cervantes. "But it's got to translate into wins."
