Cattlemen Win, 3-1, Over Nova Scotia
|
Behind an impressive start by Chase Davis, Ft. Worth beat Nova Scotia, 3-1. Davis, the winner, moves to 1-1. He threw 7.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 3 walks. The Cattlemen, now 12-5, have hit the ground running this season.
Juan Raspaldo drove in one run for Ft. Worth. The 22-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the fifth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Ben Frazier. It was his 5th RBI of the season.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Ft. Worth manager Scott Thompson said.
