The South Beach Blaze got a sterling performance from pitcher Donald Scott, but the Athletic Club KC U-24 still prevailed, 3-2. Scott threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. Nalle Sijne closed the door for Athletic Club KC, picking up his 8th save of the year. The triumph puts Athletic Club KC at 23-11 for the season.
In the bottom of the sixth, Athletic Club KC first baseman Ron Drinkwater gave his team the lead. With two out and a runner on 2nd, Berserker hit his 8th home run of the year. South Beach pitcher Donald Scott surrendered it. With that, the U-24 jumped in front, 3-2.
"The hot tub feels extra good after a solid win," said Drinkwater.
