The Delmarva Gallos did just enough to sneak past the Alameda Airmen, 4-3, at Alameda Field. Delmarva pitcher Maurice Richards, in particular, had a standout performance. Richards, the winner, moves to 8-3. He threw 5.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 3 walks. With the win, Delmarva raised its record to 55-40.

John Arrington tagged a home run off Steve Crabtree in the top of the fourth. His 2-run blast put the Gallos on top, 2-1. In all, Arrington had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"Coulda, shoulda, woulda," said Alameda manager Gonzalo Féliz. "We had our chances and didn't cash in."
