The South Beach Blaze wiggled past the Myrtle Beach Seahawks, 4-3, at The Ballpark on the Beach. The win was highlighted by the performance of South Beach pitcher Donald Scott. Cullen Drake came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. His record now stands at 3-0. With the victory, the Blaze record now stands at 16-8.
The Blaze relied on designated hitter Melvin Morgan for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the tenth, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.
"I was a little disappointed," said Myrtle Beach manager Tom Oglander. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
