Columbia picked up a win at Fuller Park, toppling the Matlacha Manatees, 4-3. Pitcher David Guerra was one of the reasons the River Rats triumphed. Rob Sawyer got credit for the win, improving to 5-3. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. Carlos Maldonado recorded the save for Columbia, his 30th of the season.

Columbia used a clutch hit from Juan Santos to get the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the River Rats ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"If we play well, we'll win our share of games," said Santos. "The only team that can beat us is us."

The River Rats have an impressive 55-31 record.
