Jets Prevail, 3-2, Over Grim
|
The 2051 season is getting uglier for Grim.
The Kennesaw Jets overcame a fine performance by Grim left fielder Werner Hayes to defeat the Reapers, 3-2, at The Coffin. Hayes went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Reliever Mario Villalobos picked up the win. His record improves to 1-2. Alfonso Escamilla took the loss.
José De Jesús had a big 2-run triple for the Jets in the top of the third inning. With Kennesaw leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a curveball from Alfonso Escamilla and swatted a triple to center. It was his 3rd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Jets ahead, 3-0.
"We bring energy to every game," said losing manager Terrence Eler. "But it's got to translate into wins."
At 30-55, the Jets claim last place in the Silver A.
