Ed Taylor never let the Tula get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his cutter, to pitch the Yellows to a win, 2-1. Taylor got the win, improving to 9-5. He allowed 5 hits and walked 2 over 6.1 innings. Taylor allowed 1 run. Joe Anthony sewed up the save, his 25th.

The Tula had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Yellows going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old second baseman Dai-lin Yen came to the plate. Yen hit a solo home run on a first pitch fastball from Chicago hurler Nate Hamilton. It was Yen's 6th home run of the year.

"Tough loss," said Chicago manager John Sirica. "But we'll learn from it."

Yucca Valley now sits in 4th place in the Silver A at 47-36.
