The Monroeville Yinzers topped the Smoky Mountain Hobeaus, 3-0, in USPL Single A action at Dragoons War Memorial Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Monroeville pitcher and Metairie, Louisiana, native Jim Givens. Smoky Mountain, now 1-15, has gotten off to a terrible start.

Givens made it look easy. He scattered 2 hits over 8 innings, while racking up 11 strikeouts. The right-hander upped his season record to 2-1.

"I had pretty good command out there," said Givens.
