Hurricanes Fall Short, 3-2, at Las Vegas
|
The Las Vegas Flamingos did just enough to secure a victory over the Cape Coral Hurricanes, 3-2, at The Strip. Nobody did more than pitcher Sergio Tacuri. The loss drops the Hurricanes to 5-8.
José Avilés had a big hit for Las Vegas in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Las Vegas leading 2-0, Avilés hit a solo home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Flamingos up, 3-0.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Cape Coral manager Greg Diersing.
