Laredo Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
|
The 5-4 Laredo win over Lake Erie was due largely to Will Moore. The Hawks center fielder went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2. Laredo pitcher Ho Pang got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Shigetoki Kato got the loss. Early on, the Hawks, at 9-3, have excelled.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With no one out, Moore hit a sinker from Shigetoki Kato for a solo home run. The Hawks, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Laredo manager Oliver Burrell.
