Big Day for Ordóñez as Yellows Down Tula, 6-5
The Yucca Valley Yellows topped the Chicago Tula, 6-5, with third baseman Gonzalo Ordóñez playing a big role. Ordóñez hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 3 for the Yellows in the win. Ed Taylor, the winner, improved to 7-5. He held Chicago to 4 runs on 6 hits over 8 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts. Joe Anthony got the save, the 18th for him this season.

With Yucca Valley leading 2-1 in the top of the fourth, Ordóñez hit a circle change from Jon Cooke for a 2-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Yellows ahead, 4-1.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Ordóñez told the Yucca Valley News.

Yucca Valley now sits in 4th place in the Silver A at 37-31.
