Matlacha right fielder Damien Judkins picked up 3 ribbies while helping his team beat back the Columbia River Rats, 4-3. Tony Rodríguez picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 4-0. Rob Sawyer was tagged with the loss. With the win, Matlacha upped its record to 38-26.
Judkins had a timely hit for Matlacha in the top of the seventh. With Columbia trailing 3-1, he turned a 0-2 curveball into a 3-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season, making it 4-3, Matlacha.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Columbia skipper Kevin McCoy, "and it cost us."
