|
Kjeld Burger never let the Cattlemen get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his cutter, to pitch the Oaks to a win, 5-1. Getting the save was Dave Becker, his 1st. The Oaks, now 7-3, have hit the ground running this season.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Jorge Peniche? The Oakland shortstop had a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Oaks on top, 2-1. For the game, Peniche had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Oakland manager DAshley GoAs.
