The Delmarva Gallos downed the Alameda Airmen, 4-2, at The Cage. Armando Merza led the way, going 2-for-4 for Delmarva. Delmarva reliever Jesús Cabrera was credited with the win, to go to 3-0. Mark McMinn took the loss for Alameda. The third-place Gallos lifted their record to 31-22.

Merza contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Delmarva in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 2-1, Merza took a fastball from Mark McMinn and stroked the home run to right. His 8th home run of the season allowed the Gallos to leap in front, 4-2.

Merza called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
