The Grim Reapers went down to defeat to Zhong-yi Lo and his Matlacha teammates. The final score was 3-2 in favor of the Manatees. Lo, the winner, moves to 2-1. He threw 5.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 9 and giving up 3 walks. Earning his 18th save for Matlacha was Victor Jones.
In the bottom of the fifth, Matlacha third baseman Pablo Bazarte had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and two out, Bazarte stroked a 2-run single to left. It made the score 3-1, Matlacha. For the game, he was 2 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"Been a rough stretch for us," said Grim manager Terrence Eler.
The win elevated the Manatees to 28-17.
