Starting pitcher Ed Taylor pitched well enough to help the Yucca Valley Yellows beat the Columbia River Rats, 6-4. Joe Anthony sewed up the save, his 9th. Yucca Valley bumps their record to 18-25 with the win.

The Yellows got an important contribution from shortstop Ed Lewis, who in the bottom of the fourth punched a full count cutter into right for a 2-run double. It was his 6th double of the season and put the Yellows ahead, 6-0.

"Nice to tuck this win away," said Taylor.
