Leviathan Suffer 1-0 Setback
|
Nova Scotia wasted a solid 7.2-inning effort from starting pitcher Earl Hurdle, losing to Seattle, 1-0, at Boeing Dome. Howard Randolph got the win, improving to 2-0. He held the Leviathan to no runs on 6 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 0. Seattle sits at 3-3.
Jeff Childs was vital part of the Seattle win. He went 1 for 3. In the bottom of the second with one out, Childs hit a run-scoring single. It made the score 1-0, in favor of the Rocketeers.
"The old adage is true," said Childs. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
