Reapers Collect 8-5 Win Over Jets
|
The Grim Reapers overcame a fine performance by Kennesaw right fielder Matt Turner to defeat the Jets, 8-5, at Jets Stadium. Turner went 4 for 6 with 2 home runs and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Lee Fortescue earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record is now 1-0. The loss puts Kennesaw at 8-9.
The most important at-bat for Grim came in the top of the 13th inning, when designated hitter Tim Robbins stroked a 2-2 curveball to right for a run-scoring single, putting Grim up, 6-5.
"Our team showed some resilience," said Robbins.
