Godfathers Shut Out Expos, 1-0
|
Niagara Falls pitcher Martin Allen gave the Godfathers all they could handle, but in the end, Pontiac left Pontiac Copperdome with a win, 1-0. Allen allowed 1 run on 5 hits over 7.1 innings. Pontiac reliever Luka Daalmeijer got the win, raising his record to 4-2. Martin Allen was tagged with the loss. Pontiac has a record of 42-49, placing them 8th in the Menard's A.
Willie Evans was 1-3 with a walk for Pontiac. The 24-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Martin Allen. It was his 41st RBI of the season.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Evans.
