Cattlemen Walk It Off for 3rd Win of Season
|
The Ft. Worth Cattlemen turned back the Nova Scotia Leviathan, 4-3, at The Cattle Pen. Tetsu Matsumoto, in particular, had a fine performance. He belted 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Pat Martin, now 1-0, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 2 and walking 2. Ft. Worth, now 3-0, is setting the league on fire so far.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With no one out, Matsumoto hit a sinker from Nicolaas Eland for a solo home run. The Cattlemen, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Ft. Worth skipper Scott Thompson. "I can't complain."
