Chiefs Mow Down Expos, 11-3
|
Caldwell shortstop José Gamboa helped his team beat the Niagara Falls Expos, 11-3. Gamboa, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2049 draft, went 2 for 4 for the Chiefs. Wei-qian Wang, the winning pitcher, improved to 7-2. He pitched 8.1 innings, giving up 9 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 2. At 50-32, the Chiefs are currently second in the Menard's A.
Ming Que hit a 2-run triple off Ernst Ayotte in the bottom of the fourth, which put the Chiefs in front, 2-0. Que had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 5.
In postgame comments to the Caldwell Daily News, Gamboa said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
