Bulls Take Down Torch, 3-2
|
Nathan Mitchell pitched well, but the Mancelona Torch still lost the game, falling 3-2 to the Belleville Bulls at Torch Field. Jonathan Luna recorded the save for Belleville, his 20th of the season. The Bulls saw their record improve to 40-34.
Belleville used the timely hitting of Ray Sloan to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Bulls on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We were in it," said Mancelona manager Joe Wilson. "We just didn't score enough runs."
