Jets Suffer 8-4 Loss to Columbia
|
Opening day festivities have begun throughout the league. Fans of the Columbia River Rats were eager to watch Henry Tucker square off against Daron Gallagher of the visiting Kennesaw Jets. In the end, the River Rats won the game, 8-4, with Henry Tucker leading the way.
Had Bill Johnson not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Johnson hit a 2-run single. That made the score 6-4, in favor of the River Rats.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Johnson said.
