Godfathers Clip Bulls in Tight Contest, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring clash between Pontiac and Belleville, pitcher Luka Daalmeijer was a difference-maker. The left-hander earned accolades in the 3-2 win. Pontiac reliever John Crouch picked up the win, raising his record to 6-1. Tyler Jelbert was tagged with the loss. Pontiac has a record of 24-32, placing them 9th in the Menard's A.
Runs were scarce in this one. So, Willie Evans's at-bat in the top of the eighth was vitally important. With one out, the Pontiac left fielder hit a sacrifice fly, to give his team a 3-2 lead.
"Both teams played hard," said Pontiac manager Allen Yohemas.
