Boyd, Walleye Beat Generals, 6-1
|
The Walla Walla Walleye extended their winning streak.
The Walla Walla Walleye beat the Washington Generals, 6-1, at Washington Park. Brian Boyd, in particular, was impressive. He was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The first-place Walleye have won 7 straight games.
With Walla Walla leading 2-0 in the top of the fifth, Boyd hit a fastball from Domingo Delgado for a 3-run home run. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the Walleye ahead, 5-0.
In postgame comments to the Walla Walla Bulletin, Boyd said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
