Godfathers Upend Expos, 8-5
|
Niagara Falls first baseman Cale Evans was sensational. He went 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Pontiac beat the Expos, 8-5. Reliever Luka Daalmeijer picked up the win. His record improves to 2-1. Steve Hale took the loss. Pontiac, now 21-27, holds down 9th place in the Menard's A.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Godfathers had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the top of the third, when center fielder Ray Parker hit a 2-run single. The single came off Steve Hale and made the score 5-0, Godfathers. Parker went 1-6. He drove in 3 runs.
"Scoring runs is scoring runs," said Pontiac skipper Allen Yohemas. "It's important to have different ways to do it."
