Bush Pilots Fall Short, 4-3, at Belleville
|
John McGrath pitched well, but his team, the Alaskan Bush Pilots, still dropped a 4-3 decision to the Belleville Bulls at Belleville Field. Tyler Jelbert, who went 7 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 9 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 7. His record now stands at 5-2. Jonathan Luna sewed up the save, his 13th.
Bill Martin drove in one run for Belleville. The 24-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Alfie Brotherton. It was his 14th RBI of the season.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Belleville manager Steve Bryan.
With the win, Belleville upped its record to 25-21.
