Commodores Knock Off Bulls, 4-3
|
Ricardo Aguirre was outstanding against Belleville. The right-hander had a fastball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Commodores 4-3 win. Aguirre, the winner, moves to 3-0. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 9 and giving up 3 walks. Jesús Milano locked down his 8th save.
The game hit a turning point in the bottom of the fifth inning, when the Commodores were trailing 1-0. Don Meyer delivered a two-out 2-run triple for Put-In-Bay, catapulting his team into the lead.
"I still think this team can play even better," Meyer told the Put-In-Bay Chronicle.
With the victory, the Commodores record now stands at 29-15.
