Caterpillars Hang 5-4 Loss on Godfathers

The Grand Forks Caterpillars took Pontiac pitcher Jared House's best shot and still were able to claim a win at The Cocoon. The final score had Grand Forks getting past the Godfathers, 5-4. House went 6.2 innings and allowed 3 runs, striking out 8. Larry Pulsifer came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 3 innings. His record now stands at 2-2. Benton Johnston got credit for the save for Grand Forks. It was his 7th of the year.
Grand Forks took a 5-3 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. With two out, left fielder Mario Rodríguez hit a 3-run home run that amped up the crowd.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Rodríguez said.
The 8th-place Caterpillars now have a win-loss record of 13-19.
