Godfathers Rally For 5-3 Win
|
The Pontiac Godfathers picked up a win at The Cocoon, knocking off the Grand Forks Caterpillars, 5-3. Starting pitcher Pjotr Wiegel played a key role in the triumph. Pontiac reliever Tepoea Nohokai picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Ramón Gómez absorbed the loss. The Godfathers are now 12-19, while the Caterpillars fall to 12-19.
Pontiac used a clutch hit from Eric Kuhn to get the win. The shortstop drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Godfathers ahead, 5-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Good win for us," said Kuhn. "We'll strap it on and go after the next one."
