Generals Come Up Short at Grand Forks, 2-1
|
The Caterpillars grabbed a win, 2-1, at The Cocoon, overcoming a fine effort from Washington pitcher Eduardo Soto. Soto went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs. Grand Forks now owns a record of 12-18.
With runs few and far between, the Caterpillars had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Grand Forks came in the bottom of the fourth inning, when catcher Ben Fox delivered a run-scoring single. The single was hit off Eduardo Soto and made the score 2-1, Caterpillars. Fox went 1 for 4.
"Enjoyed this one," Fox told the Grand Forks Gazette. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
