5-for-6 Day for Alejo
|
Caldwell Chiefs center fielder Ricardo Alejo had a day to remember at Bellevue Field today, ripping apart the Rocky Mountain Vibes and sparking the Chiefs to a 8-5 victory.
Alejo wrote his name in the record books with a 5-hit barrage, finishing his special day 5-for-6.
"I'm usually a first ball hitter," Alejo told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid it."
Ricardo Alejo singled in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit a two-run single in the 8th.
Thus far this year Alejo is batting .309 with 3 home runs, 18 RBIs and 17 runs scored.
